Abstract
The changes happening within the system of higher professional education demand new pedagogical technologies, a modernization of tools, methods and methodical techniques. In particular, this concerns the sphere of physical culture and sports. In scientific literature, the pedagogics of physical culture and sports are viewed as a "meta-subject", comprising the knowledge of anatomical, physiological, psychological and spiritual aspects of a person's development. This knowledge is taught to attendees and students as they study the "Pedagogics of Physical Culture and Sports" subject. The Active Methods of Teaching are based on an activity-based approach. The following Active Methods of Teaching are used during training of specialists in RSUPESY&T: problem-based lectures, didactic and role-playing games, problem-based teaching technologies, analysis of pedagogical situations etc. In the subject study programme, much emphasis is placed on practical classes, during which the students analyse the use of Active Methods of Teaching for teaching athletes of different age and background, and in different applied fields: physical, technical, and tactical. The Active Methods of Teaching have also become widespread in Fitness Industry, as methods of personnel training. A significant portion of the classes is devoted to independent development of personal and group training programmes, conducting classes in a real professional environment, and role-play.
