TECHNOLOGY OF FORMATION OF STUDENTS’ GENERAL AND PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES IN SECONDARY VOCATIONAL EDUCATION

Abstract

The paper presents the author’s experience in implementation of the requirements set forth by the federal state educational standards (GEF) in secondary vocational education at Togliatti Engineering College (TEC). It describes training technology, which enables efficient formation of professional competence established by the federal state educational standards of secondary vocational education, including the structuring of the content of the professional module according to the major professional activity, competence-oriented tasks, pool of assessment tools, a set of evaluation tools, and methodological support of independent work of students. The author suggests the scheme and description of the formation technology of both general and professional competences of the students of Togliatti Engineering College. Based on GEF analysis of Mechanical Engineering specialty (151901), managers and a creative group of college teachers determined professional competencies of college students and developed specification of learning outcomes. The work contains a description of monitoring the level of formation of general and professional competencies of TEC students held in the course of training the college students according to a new educational program. The opportunity to provide feedback in an educational institution is shown through monitoring the formedness of general and professional competencies of college students; it allows you to see the dynamics of the students’ competencies formedness throughout the course of training according to the basic professional educational program and make quick adjustments to the educational process. The work considers criteria of college students’ professional competence, which were used as the basis for development of the control and assessment tools to evaluate the formedness of professional competencies. The analysis of the monitoring results of the students’ professional competencies formedness is also presented.
