Abstract
The paper interprets the content of the concepts of “design”, “project activities” and presents the authors’ definition of the project activities and the basic principles of arrangement of the given type of activity in the educational process of higher education institution. The authors note the changes taking place within the “teacher – student” relations while implementing the project technology, as well as make the conclusion that the project activities help students to form an independent work skill, practical skills for decision making at different stages of the project preparation, develop social skills, sense of community, will to results achievement that promotes the student’s formation as a subject of educational process.
