Abstract
The article considers the concept of "competitiveness" and "competitiveness specialist". By means of developing the competitiveness of the specialist is scientific-research activity of students. The article presents directions and stages of the organization of research activity of students in the Penza state technological University, aimed at development of competitiveness of students.
