Abstract
The article reveals the concepts of political development and political modernization, carried out a comparative analysis in the context of the political development of the problem of political modernization. In this connection, attention is paid to the types of political development, the concept of political and social progress. The author focuses on the different approaches to the concept of political modernization, especially conservative and liberal, defining its positions.
