Abstract
The article considers the expediency and possibility of familiarizing the 6 – 7 year old children with the cultural traditions of physical education of their people and the peoples of the nearest national environment. It also contains the main theses of the programme “Spings of Health” and discusses the results of the experimental work on its realization in preschool educational institutions in the Chuvash Republic.
