Abstract

In the Russian formation such phenomena as « paid educational services », « a wide range of educational services », « increase of a competition among the educational organizations of higher education », become habitual. The student – the consumer of educational services, formation – the goods, therefore it is necessary for organizations of higher education to consider socially-psychological features of the modern student. For research of the given question by authors questioning students of the Nizhniy Novgorod engineering-economic college trained on the first and second rates of economic faculty and faculty of information technologies and communication systems has been lead. The questionnaire mentions various sides of a student's life: educational activity (visiting of employment, the attitude to score-rating system, a possibility of work in school hours), research work (sources of information search, participation in scientific mugs), a public life (membership in student's self-management, the volunteer organizations, trade union, playing sports). As a result of research carried out by us it is possible to come to the conclusion that the socially-psychological portrait of the modern student sufficiently differs from this decade earlier. The modern student is distinguished with following character traits: capacity to adapt and survive in a society at any cost, purposefulness, the mobility, the overestimated level of claims and self-assessments, aiming at career and desire to hold high posts. The majority of them would like to continue the training, as well as to receive a degree of the candidate and the doctor of sciences. It has to be noted erudition in area information technologies. Thus, radical modernization of system of domestic formation has led to variation in consciousness and purchase of new shape of the modern student, prime objective became purchase of competitive advantages on a labor market.
